The "Waiting on" column in Jira queues

Show who each request waits on, and since when, right in your Jira queues and filters.

ForPeople who can configure Jira queues

Before you startThe selected requests must have been checked by RequestOps.

  1. Open Settings, then Jira and data, then Jira fields and Automation, and follow the steps for the "Waiting on" field.
  2. In your service space, open the queue settings and add the "Waiting on" column.
  3. Each request shows text such as "Customer since 1 Oct" or "Vendor since 28 Sep". It changes only when the request starts waiting on someone else.
  4. Use the ready-made queues on that page, for example "Waiting on a vendor for 3 days or more", to build a queue.
  5. The field holds only who it waits on, such as "Customer", and a date. It never holds a person's name.

What you should see

The queue shows who each request waits on and when that wait started.

If something is not right

Older requests have no value. A Jira admin can run Check existing requests in Settings, then Get started.
