Settings, permissions and troubleshooting

Settings in one page

Settings is where Jira admins turn things on. It has six groups, and every switch starts off.

Before you startReview a setting’s description before enabling it.

  • Get started: your spaces, what is on in each, and a suggested checklist for the others.
  • Messages: Nudges and messages, Replies and Approvals. Choose what RequestOps sends, keep your saved replies and decide when approvers get a nudge.
  • Time: Business hours and Waiting time. Set when your team works, and say who each status waits on.
  • Reports: SLA targets and the Jira field that names your teams.
  • Jira and data: Jira fields and Automation, Import, and Privacy and data. Connect Jira, bring data over from other apps and manage stored data.
  • Your preferences: your own choices, such as animations. They apply only to you.
  • When you open a group, its parts are listed under it on the left. Choose one, such as Replies, to jump straight to it.
  • Each row has a switch, one line that says what happens, and Edit for the details. Changes save as you make them, and the message that confirms each change has an Undo button.
  • People who are not Jira admins can open Settings and see what is on, but only Jira admins can change it.

What you should see

You can find the setting that controls an action and recognise when a change has saved.

If something is not right

A change cannot be saved. Read the error and reload the section if someone else changed it. Reapply only your intended change.
