See who has too many requests, and let RequestOps give new requests to the person with the fewest.

ForManagers; Jira admins configure automatic assignment

Before you startCheck group membership and away cover before enabling automatic assignment.

  1. Open Insights, then Workload.
  2. Each row shows a person's open requests, their oldest one and their load. People who are away are marked "Away".
  3. A Jira admin can turn on auto-assign under "Auto-assign settings" on the Workload tab: pick a space and a group, choose "Add rule", then "Turn on auto-assign".
  4. New unassigned requests then go to the person in the group with the fewest open requests. People who are away are skipped.
  5. Each automatic assignment shows in the request's Jira history.
  6. Share copies the team totals only. Rows per person are never exported, and the numbers per person are for Jira admins only. Use them to coach, not to rank.
  7. "What happened", at the bottom of Workload, lists what happened to your requests. See "Request history and export".

What you should see

You can see team load; enabled rules assign eligible new unassigned requests.

If something is not right

A request stays unassigned. Check that its space has an enabled rule, eligible group members, and Jira assignment permissions.
