Clean up seats

Undo a removal and recheck

Every removal can be undone for 30 days. Seatwise adds the person back to the same groups. Recheck tells you if anyone got Jira back.

ForSite admins

Before you startThe cleanup was less than 30 days ago. You are a site admin.

  1. Open History. Each change shows when it happened, what changed, the result and who made it.
  2. Choose “Open” on a cleanup row to see its result.
  3. In the “Removed” list, choose “Undo” next to a person. Seatwise adds them back to the same groups.
  4. To undo everyone in that cleanup, choose “Undo all 24”.
  5. Right after a cleanup, the message that pops up also has “Undo”. It undoes everyone in that cleanup.
  6. The result page says how long Undo lasts, for example “You can undo until 12 Nov.”
  7. Seatwise rechecks each cleanup by itself the next day. To check now, choose “Recheck now”.
  8. If nobody got Jira back, it says “Nobody got Jira back. The seats are still free.”
  9. If someone did, Seatwise names them. It doesn't change them again.
  10. History keeps your last 300 changes.

What you should see

People you undo show “Undone”. They are back in their groups and have Jira access again.

If something is not right

You see “Undo is only possible for 30 days after a cleanup.” The 30 days have passed. Add the person back to their group in Atlassian admin.

Undo says “Couldn't add them back to …”. Jira refused or didn't answer. Choose “Undo” again. If your identity provider manages the group, add the person back there.
