Clean up seats
Keep list, protected groups and settings
Keep people and groups out of every cleanup, with a reason. Settings also holds your plan and the monthly check day.
- From a person: open their details and choose “Keep this person”.
- Type a reason under “Why keep …?”, then choose “Keep …”. Everyone who opens Seatwise sees this reason.
- This saves at once. To take someone off, open them and choose “Remove from keep list”.
- From Settings: open Settings, then “Keep list”. Choose “Add a person”, pick the person and fill in “Why keep them?”.
- Choose “Add to keep list”, then “Save settings”.
- Under “Protected groups”, choose a group, then “Protect group”. Seatwise never removes anyone from that group.
- Use protected groups for admin and service groups. Choose the X next to a group to stop protecting it.
- “Monthly check” sets the day of the month when the checks on Home start again.
- “Your preferences” sets the theme and animations. They are only for you, in this browser, and apply at once.
- Choose “Save settings” at the bottom to save the site settings.
What you should see
People on the keep list, and everyone in a protected group, show as “Kept on purpose” and are never removed.
If something is not right
“Add to keep list” stays grey. Pick a person and type a reason. Seatwise needs both.
Your changes are gone after you leave Settings. Site settings save only with “Save settings”. Until then, the bar says “You have changes that are not saved.”
You see “Could not save. Nothing changed. Try again.” Try again in a minute. If Home says the license is not active, saving stays off until it is renewed.
